  15. The 1996 Maine Teacher of the year is Robert L. Maurais, KC1IV.
  16. Maurais, an industrial arts instructor at the Frank H. Harrison
  17. Middle School in Yarmouth, was chosen for the honor on October 4.
  18.  
  19. Maurais, an ARRL-registered instructor and the 1992 ARRL Instructor
  20. of the Year, was picked from 17 candidates recommended by local
  21. nominating committees.
  22.  
  23. In 1994 Bob Maurais received the Walt Disney Company's ''American
  24. Teacher of the Year'' award, and in 1993 he was the recipient of the
  25. Maine State Christa McAuliffe Fellowship Award.  His father is a
  26. ham, too: Jerry Maurais, WA1BMG.

  28. KC1IV's selection was made by Raymond H. Poulin Jr, Maine's deputy
  29. commissioner of the Department of Education, and Peter Geiger, vice
  30. chairman of the Maine State Board of Education.
